    Default Notation for guiros

How do you write notation for a guiro? In particular, I'm wondering how you notate the difference between tapping the guiro (striking it), and scraping the guiro (sliding the stick along it). Are there other things you can do with a guiro besides tapping and scraping?

I'm familiar with music for pitched instruments, but I have very little percussion experience. So please explain in simple terms. Thanks.

To my knowledge there is no standard notation. Traditional guiro is limited to quick double and slow, full scrapes, you can add accents by changing the striking area occaisionaly or if you have a multi guiro using the edge of the scraper..

Thanks very much. I guess since there's no standard notation I'll just write it like a regular drum part.
