My brother just picked this snare drum up along with its stand and hi-hat stand and cymbals for £1.50 in a charity shop.
The snare is not in bad condition apart from the top of the snare lever is broken.
The hardware is not pitted and the shell apart from needing a clean up and maybe recovering.
It sounded awesome when I played it this week.
As far as I can see the premier website dates the snare back to 1958 (black and white picture showing Super Ace snare) but I want to try and get some idea what the original colour choice might have been (it currentlly looks cream) to try and match it up and get it redone.
HELP! with any background history and colours would be great.
